Bringing on-campus activities and field trips in line with school-based curriculum in kindergarten, primary, secondary and tertiary education

Environmental Education Programme - Green Prefect Programme 2022/23

‘Green Prefect (GP) Programme’ is an environmental education programme sponsored by the Environment and Conservation Fund and jointly organised by the Environmental Campaign Committee (ECC), the Environmental Protection Department and the Education Bureau. The programme facilitates schools in developing a group of energetic and resourceful GPs with deeper understanding of environmental issues. GPs can act as models in embracing green living for their peers, enhance students’ environmental awareness and encourage them to build up green habits on campus.

This student-oriented programme empowers the appointed GPs to start with their campus environment. Through monitoring the school’s environmental performance in the following aspects: Energy Conservation, Water Conservation, Waste Avoidance & Reduction, Greening, Nature Conservation & Biodiversity, and Clean Indoor Air, as well as organising related environmental promotion activities, GPs can assist the school to promote a greener campus and enhance the school’s environmental performance.
