
OWLHK organizes the Foundation Course on Plant Identification since 2018. It had received an overwhelming response year by year. This course is welcome for plant lovers to participate, for the sake of laying a sound foundation for studying plants.

Course Feature
- Small class teaching: each class opens for application within 24 trainees, arranged on a first-come, first-served basis. Teacher-to-student ratio remains 1:6.
- Professional tutor: lecturers and field-trip tutors are local graduates of Ecology, Biology or Environmental Science who are also sophisticated in environmental education and botany research
- Outdoor education: the 4-day course consists of over 25 hours field trip, learning at the major plantation in Hong Kong
- Featuring Ecology Component: on top of species identification, it introduces the importance of plants ecologically

Learning Objectives
- To identify basic structures of plant

- To classify the dominant species in habitats in Hong Kong
Time and Format
3 sessions of indoor lectures, 1 half-day field trip and 3 full-day field trips. 1 half-day outdoor assessment will be included. 36 hours in total.
