《Law of the Forest》 is the first and only Hong Kong board game with the theme of local forest ecology and biodiversity, which was designed and published by OWLHK. Through the game’s mechanism “survival of the fittest”, students will learn about the concept of the food chain and the relationship between forest creatures, as well as the impact of human activities on forest ecosystems. 《Law of the Forest》activity series include Indoor Board Game Activity, Forest Exploration, and Activity Day.

Learn from shore cleaning! Through indoor talk, students will learn about local marine ecology and marine debris pollution. After that, they will visit the coastal ecological hotspot, explore coastal ecology and conduct shore cleaning in groups. Students will observe coastal habitat characteristics and intertidal organism behaviors during the field trip. In addition, they will conduct shore cleaning and marine debris surveys in order to understand how marine debris affects our environment and our lives. This will help students to reflect and cultivate environment-friendly living habits to reduce waste at source in daily life.

Students can comprehensively and thoroughly understand various ecological topics, including Hong Kong's ecology and biodiversity, forest ecology, wetland ecology, marine ecology, Lantau Island ecology, and Hong Kong's nocturnal animals through subject talks. The talks are based on the local environment, aiming to make it easier for students to connect with their daily lives and resonate with the topics.

The Tin Hau Goddess at the Tin Hau Temple in Pui O, Lantau Island has disappeared! Students will become detectives and solve the mystery of Tin Hau's disappearance by completing orienteering missions. The activity is themed around the freshwater wetland, and students will participate in games and wetland exploration activities to learn about freshwater resources, wetland flora and fauna, and discuss the human impact on wetlands, to understand the sustainable development of Lantau Island. (Autumn and winter exclusive from October to April)

During one and a half hours of field study in a city park, students will use binoculars to observe various local and common birds, in order to understand the environment and behavior of birds in urban areas and learn how to coexist with wild birds.

The establishment of "Insect Hotels" provides suitable breeding grounds for urban insects, especially solitary bees, and contributes to insect conservation. Insect hotels also serve as important educational platforms to promote insect ecology and the importance of pollinating insects to the local ecosystem among students, teachers, and parents through diverse educational and citizen science activities. These programs aim to help participants overcome their fear of insects, and clear misconceptions about insects. The curriculum adopts diverse learning formats, including indoor classes, insect hotel workshops, insect ecology surveys, and training for insect hotel investigation ambassadors. It guides students to discover the fascinating aspects of insects.

The Butterfly Ecology course aims to introduce the ecological knowledge of local butterflies and plants to the students while encouraging them to actively participate in ecological conservation. Through indoor classes and outdoor field trips, students learn about basic insect ecology, Hong Kong butterfly ecology, the relationship between butterflies and plants, as well as butterfly ecological crises and conservation efforts. If a butterfly garden is available in a school, the curriculum can be further integrated with a series of school-based activities in collaboration with the butterfly garden.
