Activity Introduction
Apart from being the Pearl of the Orient, Hong Kong also has a diversified biodiversity. We are neighbors to lots of wild animals. We could often find traces of birds at every corner in the city, Asian Koel calling loudly, Black Kite hovering in the sky, Little Egret resting on a tree, etc. Indeed, urban ecology is deeply interconnected with our daily life.
“Interactive Ecology Classroom’s Our Bird Neighbors” uses urban birds as a starting point. In small-class activities including lectures, documentary appreciation, games and storytelling, students could learn about common urban birds in Hong Kong. Through learning the way to live peacefully with wild animals, students are encouraged to observe and appreciate surrounding urban ecology in everyday life.
