Subsequent to the night ecology field trips organized during 2022-2023, we again were invited by the Chinese University of Hong Kong Wildlife & Animal Caring Society. In May 2024, we led 15 tertiary students to Tai Po Kau Nature Reserve, exploring local daytime ecology. In the 4-hour field trip, the tertiary students encountered and learned about different native wild plants, such as Ivy Tree, Chinese Sweet Gum and Giant Alocasia. They understood more about their characteristics, ecological value and their contribution to human. During the trip, they observed different enchanting butterflies and birds, sensing Hong Kong biodiversity. Through the ecotour, the tertiary students understood the connection between themselves and the nature, learning to appreciate and protect the valuable local nature ecology.
