Coastal Exploration and Shore Cleaning

Through indoor lecture, ecology tour and shore cleaning, “Coastal Exploration and Shore Cleaning” aims to let participants to understand Hong Kong’s marine environment and biodiversity comprehensively, as well as enhance their awareness towards marine debris, in order to conserve marine creatures, such as mudskippers and crabs.

OWLHK has organized shore cleaning for Green Token and BOCI-Prudential Trustee Limited in November 2022 and October 2023 respectively. It is hoped that by combining the power of corporates, we could contribute to marine ecology, and achieve the goal of sustainable development.

The group have visited places like Tingkok (Tai Po), Tseng Kwan O, Tai Tam and Tseng Tau. The activity included indoor lecture, field visit and shore cleaning. The activity provided a comprehensive experience from getting to know about environmental knowledge, to turn into environmental action, and have a reflection as a round up. A complete learning experience can be achieved.

Hang Seng Bank

A big team of Hang Seng Bank volunteers have brought a change to the coast of Nai Chung! Learning about the problems of ocean pollution and the amazing marine wildlife in Hong Kong, volunteers were keen to witness the wildlife in the environment and were determined to give a hand cleaning up the home of wildlife in Nai Chung. Witnessing litter big and small along the coast, volunteers have picked up every bit they saw and made it a collective action for the environment!
