As night comes, if you listen and observe carefully, you may discover the toad hiding in the drain, and a snake crawling quietly on the rail. Our “Night Safari into the Forest” activity guided the participants to step into the mysterious night ecology world, learned about different amphibians and reptiles, and enhance their awareness towards ecology conservation.
To strengthen the corporate staff’s understanding of local ecology, we have designed the activity “Game Education: Law of the Forest”. It includes an indoor lecture session, where participants could understand more about Hong Kong biodiversity. After acquiring such knowledge foundation, participants experienced the board game “Law of the Forest”, the game that was designed by us. Through the board game, they could learn more about the competition and interdependent relationships among different species. According to corporates’ needs, we could arrange outdoor field trip activities for their staff as well, so as to enhance their awareness of environmental protection.
In November 2023, we designed the “Forest Exploration” activity for BlackRock (Hong Kong Branch)’s staff and their family. Participants used the “Forest Exploration Logbook”, and completed different missions at Lung Fu Shan Country Park. They could be more capable of using their five senses, and discover the nature independently.
We collaborated with Eaton HK in May 2023, and arranged an art workshop for its “Earth Month---Ways of Water” activity. Participants could understand more about local freshwater wetland ecosystem, and express the beauty of freshwater organisms via art.
Being part of the HSBC Sustainable Finance Leadership Programme joined by cooperate leaders from different countries, together with Dr. Billy Hau from HKU School of Biological Sciences, OLWHK designed and conducted half day activity in Shek Kong and introduce forest conservation and management, and its significance and relationship with sustainable development.
