OWLHK has launched our first Hong Kong Butterfly Ecology and Identification Course in 2022. The course introduces knowledge and ecology about these beautiful and important insects in Hong Kong.

Learning objectives
- To know the basic ecological and conservation knowledge of butterflies
- To grasp the observation skill of the ten butterfly families in Hong Kong
- To identify common butterfly species in Hong Kong
- To know some common host plants and nectar plants of butterflies
Course Feature
- Small class teaching: each class opens for application within 24 trainees, arranged on a first-come, first-served basis. Teacher-to-student ratio remains 1:6.
- Professional tutor: lecturers and field-trip tutors who are sophisticated in environmental education and research.
- Outdoor education: the course consists of over 16 hours field trip.
- Featuring ecology component: on top of species identification, it introduces the importance of butterfly ecologically.
Time and format
3 sessions of online lectures, 4 half-day field trips. 22 hours in total.
Certificate
Participants will receive a certificate of at least 80% attendance.
