We provide professional development training for teachers, with a focus on local ecology and environmental education. Through a dynamic blend of thematic talks, experience sharing, hands-on workshops, and outdoor ecological field trips, our programs help teachers deepen their understanding of Hong Kong’s biodiversity and ecosystems. Participants also gain insights into key concepts and theories in environmental education, along with practical skills for designing and implementing impactful learning experiences for young children.
Training formats are flexible and can be tailored to suit your school’s needs—whether as half-day, full-day sessions, or structured courses.
Indoor Training
Our indoor training program equips teachers with comprehensive ecological knowledge and practical skills to effectively integrate environmental education into school-based curricula, enhancing overall teaching quality. The training includes a variety of thematic talks and board game activity. Schools may select the combination of sessions that best suits your needs. Each session lasts one hour, and multiple sessions may be chosen.

“Law of the Forest ”Board Game activity
- “Law of the Forest is an original board game developed by OWLHK—the first in Hong Kong themed around local forest ecology and biodiversity
- Through survival-based gameplay, participants learn about food chains, inter-species relationships, and human threats to forest ecosystems
Custom Ecological Thematic Talk
Schools may request training on specific ecological topics such as plants, insects, or birds. We will tailor the content to deepen teachers’ understanding of the selected theme
Outdoor Ecology Field Trips
Step outside the classroom and into nature! Led by professional environmental education tutors, these outdoor field trips take participants to forests or urban parks for an immersive learning experience. Through interactive games, hands-on tasks, and sensory exploration, teachers will gain practical knowledge of local flora and fauna—uncovering fascinating ecological insights they can bring back to their classrooms. These experiences are designed to inspire and support the integration of environmental education into everyday teaching.
Forest Ecology Outdoor Field Trip
Set in biodiverse and easily accessible countryside locations, this field trip allows teachers to reconnect with nature while learning about common plants and animals in rural Hong Kong. It’s a perfect complement to the “Nature and Living” teaching theme, enriching both content and classroom engagement.
Urban Ecology Outdoor Field Trip
Urban parks are full of hidden biodiversity! This field trip helps teachers explore the natural world right outside their school gates, making the experience highly relevant and easy to apply in daily teaching. Schools can also choose to explore their own campuses, with a preliminary site visit conducted by our instructors if needed.
